I was a bride staying at the George for three nights, the one prior to and the two following our wedding day. I was getting married at another venue. On the day of my wedding I was told to leave the hotel or go to my room and shoved into a corner. My bridemaids, photographer and myself were waiting in the lobby for my wedding car to arrive. The staff came over to me and asked where I was getting married and I told them, they ordered me to eitherleave the hotel immedately and go to my wedding venue or I needed to go back to my room. Apparently they were having a wedding there that day and they didn't want the other bride to see me. I was shocked at how I was spoken too but I didn't want to cause I scene so we went back to my room to wait for the call that the wedding car had arrived. We received that call and proceeded downstairs. We were exiting the elevator when the other bride was coming down the hall and the hotel staff shoved me in a corner and started freaking out because there were two brides in the hall. They told me that I needed to leave because they couldn't have two brides. They clearly forgot I was a paying customer and I was a bride too. Both of us, the Brides, were fine it was the staff that had the problem. I have never seen any customer treated as bad as I was not to mention that I was a bride and it was my wedding day too. Imagine being told on your wedding day to get out and then be put in a corner. I was treated horribly. I will never stay at The George again and I would not reccomend having events there nor will I ever host anything there. The staff clearly do not know how to treat people. A side note the rooms weren't fabulous either they were clean but outdated and certainly not worth the price or the heartache that the staff caused.
Admin: Hi Jaclyn, Seems like the staff were either spooked by a previous experience. Maybe the last time it happened the two brides were not as relaxed about the whole affair.
I hope this didn't spoil the day for you - A minor glitch for an otherwise fantastic day.
Best for the future.
