Our perfect day Reviewed by: Beth Harrison| Rating: 5 | 9:36pm on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011 |
James and I were married at Notley Abbey on 12th September this year. What can I say about Notley that hasn't already been said...it really was everything that we had dreamed about and more! The venue is simply magical, and the fact that you have it to yourselves for 24 hours makes it feel like a big house party. The food is fabulous, the service is incredible, and we and all our guests enjoyed every minute! The venue were very accommodating of our choice of DJ as well as requests for particular menu items. The support and assistance in the planning stages was great, particularly the Bijou online planning software...if you are anything like the planning nerd I am, you will love it! There are lots of great suppliers in the area to help create your perfect day, and the proximity to London and the motorway network make it convenient for most people. We had the most amazing day. The whole Notley team were fantastic to work with. Thank you!! |

Our daughter Lyndsey married James Tickner at Notley Abbey on 10 September 2011. I just wanted to say what an absolutely spectacular venue. The chef and his team did a splendid job and the food was delicious - I've never had meat pie like that before! The Monk's Refectory looked stunning both for the wedding service and the wedding breakfast and special thanks go to the Notley Abbey staff and Cherubs Florists for their expertise. Frank Sinatra (Phil Fryer) made a special guest appearance during the wedding breakfast and as he moved around the tables managed to create the party atmosphere and most of the guests were up doing the conga around the room even before the dessert and coffees were served. The toastmaster did a brilliant job and although was mostly in the background he managed to join in the conga after much persuasion! The party carried on into the night with Ibiza/London's top DJ Chico providing the music for the dancing and the dance floor was full until 1 am. One of the guests commented that she felt as if she had been at a celebrity's wedding and I must say Lyndsey did look somewhat like a film star and Segerius Bruce (Photographer) on his blogs said that "he loved the vintage touches and Lyndsey pulled off the rouge lipstick look like no other bride". What a wonderful day - thank you all - we hoped it would never end! |
