We chose a one day package in August to keep the price down and so things were a little more rushed than we would have liked but this was our decision, The bridal Party was able to arrive from 1.30pm for a 4pm ceremony and the other guests from 3pm. When we arrived at 1.30pm the marquee and threshing barn lounge was all set up for the ceremony, tables laid, chairs covered and laid out etc. There were a few changes we required and these were soon rectified. We were doing the flowers and other decorations ourselves to keep costs down and probably could have done with a little more a**tance to have speeded this up but I am certain that if we had communicated this beforehand every thing would have been sorted. A couple more willing hands for a hour would have been great or if we had sent the stuff over earlier in the morning for the staff to get on with I am convinced it all would have been done. Whilst we were leaving I noticed Jonathan and the staff getting on with jobs like that for a wedding the following day so I am sure I should have just asked. The whole setting is absolutely fabulous and the contemporary feel of the entire place is a calm, beautiful backdrop for anything you want to add. It takes very little decorating to make a stunning wedding location. The staff are very laid back and you do get the feel you can just do your own thing. We took our own wine, soft drinks and beer so didnt need the bar in the end. Food for the reception was good, service was a little slow, we had 40 guests and the last table was only getting its food by the time we had nearly finished, I'm not quite sure why that was. Probably didn't help that the last table to be served was full of kids so they got slightly rowdy and impatient. Throughout the day and evening though there was a relaxed atmosphere without too much staff presence that made you feel it was your event which was what I preferred, if you need it to very organised and ordered then I think you would have to go over this thoroughly with Kim and Jonathan prior to the day.The evening munchies were a big hit and I would fully reccomend you pick the breakfast option. We catered this ourselves again to keep costs down and found it was an extra thing to worry about. The registrars from Liskeard were absolutely lovely they really made it a very special occaision, they were well aquainted with the staff and Trevenna itself and friendly and relaxed which helped to put everyone at ease. All in all it was a really magical day and I felt the team at Trevenna helped to make that happen.
