We got married at Pelham House in August 2008. We booked our date way back in early 2007 after visiting the hotel and falling in love with the place - we had a few reservations about the capability of the wedding coordinator but after reading the reviews of the Circa restaurant we decided that the fantastic food and the wonderful location would outweigh any negative points that we could come up with.
As many other reviews have mentioned, Circa and Pelham House parted ways in early 2008, the wedding coordinator that we had been dealing with was suddenly no longer, and we started to worry that our perfect wedding was in jeopardy... We shouldnt have worried. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to single out individuals on here, but hotel staff Abi and Liza who took over the coordination of our day should be given nothing but glowing praise.
Nothing was too much trouble for them, all of our last minute changes to the menu, accommodation and schedule were actioned with no fuss, and they were our guardian angels on the day - thanks to them everything ran smoothly and even when our photographer overran, they made sure that the rest of the schedule was amended and flowed smoothly, without the wedding party having to worry about anything.
We had enough guests at the hotel to pretty much have the run of the main house, and all of our guests remarked that the standard of accommodation was excellent and that the food and service were superb - the chef who has taken over from the much lauded Circa has picked up from exactly where they left off and taken the menu to the next level - the standard of the produce and the quality of the overall meal was fantastic - five stars.
Even when our entire wedding party descended for the (excellent) full cooked breakfast (included in our room price) at the same time the next morning, the staff simply smiled and got on with it, even re arranging the whole dining room to squeeze us all in together.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Pelham House to anyone who is looking for a beautiful Sussex location complete with supremely capable staff to host their big day.
