We stayed here on the night of our wedding after getting married elsewhere. We arrived back to the hotel late to find there was a party taking place in the lounge area. We went to bed as did the rest of our group (we had booked 6 of the 16 rooms there).
The music was still blaring at 1am so I phoned downstairs to ask them to turn the music off. The guy who answered the telephone told me that they were having fun and that he couldn't do anything about it. Another guest in our party also phoned on a number of occasions and got a similar response. The music was eventually turned off at 3AM!!!
We complained in the morning and got the response "well you were part of the party so we can't do anything about it!". Eventually they gave us a slight discount on the room rates for us and a few of the other guests in our group but the damage had been done by then.
Considering we had booked the rooms at least 6 months in advance, you would think they could accommodate us away from the loud music. They did not have anyone staffing the party that night which is appalling. Also, when we checked in we had to wait forever to be seen to. In the morning, we waited at least 20mins to be served breakfast.
It is such a shame because it is a gorgeous hotel. They really need to sort out their staffing.
