Our daughter's wedding could not have been more perfect. From planning to the day itself Kim and her staff could not have done more for us.
The rooms are all individual, very comfortable and reasonably priced. The bridal suite was out of this world and the best we have seen in all the potential venues we visited in Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire and Powys. The food and service far exceeded our expectations and the atmosphere created by the staff was friendly but they were always on hand if we needed them.
Stunning location in the Powys countryside, ideal for wedding photos.
Highly recommended.
We got married at Mellington hall September 2010, I cannot recommend it enough! The hall is beautiful, you couldn't wish for a prettier location for your wedding. Kim the wedding coordinator was so helpful, made us feel very special and ensured all our wishes and needs were met. The food was outstanding and all the guests commented on this. Plenty of it, good choices and delicious! Just wish we could do it all over again!
We held our wedding in Mellington Hall at the beginning of September 2010. The staff were amazing; very helpful and made us feel very welcome. The hall is a fantastic location to hold your wedding with loads of beautiful photo opportunities in and around the building itself as well as the lake and woodland surrounding it. The food was fantastic and the hotel itself was spotless. We hired out all but one of the hotels rooms for the night of our wedding and all of our guests were very happy with their rooms and all commented on how beautiful the venue was. We would highly recommend Mellington Hall to anyone looking to book their wedding or to anyone looking for first class accommodation in this beautiful part of the country. Best wishes Steve and Sam
Excellent wedding venue. We chose to get married on Valentine's Day 2010 at Mellington Hall and were extremely pleased with our choice. Everything went very smoothly and we honestly can't think of anything that could have been better. We lost count of the number of guests who said that the food was the best that they had ever had at a wedding. We were well looked after and the atmosphere was just right, whether relaxing by the open fire, drinking in the bar or chatting in the private lounge that was set aside for us. We would thoroughly recommend Mellington for anyone looking for a wedding venue. For anyone looking for a hotel, the rooms were very comfortable and well appointed, especially the Mellington Suite. We had family and friends staying in other rooms and everyone was satisfied; the family rooms were great for those with children.
Perfect, no other words to describe it!. My husband and I were married at Mellington in July 2010 and also had our wedding reception there. I already knew of the venue and the outstanding quality and service I'd always received there but the wedding really was something fantastic. From our initial conversations with Mellington right through to the day following our wedding, the staff and owners could not have done more to make our time there more perfect. The staff: Kym the wedding organiser was friendly, kind and supportive throughout our planning making allowances for last minute changes no matter how big or small. On the day, the staff really were outstanding attending to everyone's needs and actually making us feel like we were part of the Mellington family. Everything was in order, all table decorations were laid out just as I wanted them to be without any real guidance from me. Lee even watered my bouquet throughout the day whenever I had to leave it to do wedding duties! The rooms: Again perfect. We stay regularly in bridal suites at top hotels throughout the country and the bridal suite at Mellington Hall simply out does all of them. You have to see it to appreciate it, the pictures just simply don't and never could do it justice. We loved it so much - we went back a few days after the wedding to relax in the room and make use of the huge jacuzzi bath. Our family occupied all the other rooms in the hotel and they were all speechless and have said they all intend to go back and spend time relaxing there. The venue: Look at the pictures! It's picture perfect, it's a place people dream of getting married at. Really - if you could dream up your ideal venue, this would be the place. Our family and friends were simply speechless at the beauty of Mellington Hall. Every one of the rooms fits the hotel perfectly, they are all comfortable and welcoming. The food: In our wedding party we had the pickiest eater I have ever known (aside from me), he enjoyed the food so much - he decided to include a mention in his speech about it! Really, the food is something else. I frequent the restaurants considered 'the places to go to' in Birmingham and this really is up there with them and to top the wedding off we woke up to a traditional english breakfast. In summary: If you look at Mellington and have doubts, don't! You will not be disappointed. I can't thank the owners and staff enough for a day I know not only will I never forget, it will always be fresh in my mind. I miss Mellington aleady and I will be back very soon to enjoy it again.
We had our wedding reception in May 2010 at Mellington Hall. Before booking the venue we looked at around 12 venues in Powys and Shropshire, but this place for us definitely had the "wow" factor. Everything we wanted from a venue this place had.
Kim, the Wedding Coordinator, was friendly, extremely helpful and we always had a warm welcome. She even allowed us to freely walk around all the newly decorated bedrooms and we were taken back with the amazing honeymoon suite with its modern decor and spacious bathroom with a jacuzzi.
The marquee was just perfect and everything we asked for thanks to Stuart at Accasion Marquees and Kim made sure everything was in place so I didn't have to.
It was lovely that you could have your photos taken in so many different places and I loved the ones in the tower and down by the lake.
On the day the service was fantastic and everybody commented on how amazing the food was which was lovely to hear.
So if you want a venue which boasts amazing grounds, fantastic food and friendly staff then look no further!
My advice would be go with what feels right because you only do it once!
