I would like to thank all the staff at The Bobsleigh Hotel for making our wedding day so special and a day to remember. Every single member of staff was so helpful and could not do enough for us. The garden was cut on the day to ensure the standard of the grounds were fantastically presented as the garden is a lovely place for the photos (luckily the sun was shining).

A special mention really needs to go to the Event Manager who was overseeing everything on the day, his attention to detail was outstanding and he ensured that the day ran to perfection. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he made sure our day ran without a hitch. It is thanks to him that our guests, Daniel and I had such a great day. All of our guest’s have stated how much they enjoyed the food, so the chef’s need a special mention too.

Please ensure that all the staff are recognised for their hard work at The Bobsleigh Hotel.

Daniel and I will be recommending The Bobsleigh Hotel to friends and family for meals and events in the future.

There were a lot of things we liked about The Bobsleigh. We loved the grounds and fortunately the weather was lovely on the day and we were able to have all our photos taken outside. The gardens are beautifully kept and provided a lovely background. We also really liked the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the staff were polite and helpful and we were completely sold by the Acacia Suite which is gorgeous with the lovely glass apex roof and we felt it was absolutely perfect for our wedding reception. We had been to other potential venues and this was the first one where we both walked in and knew straight away this was the place we wanted our wedding to be!

Cheryl Willoughby was efficient and helpful from day one. She made us feel very relaxed about organising the wedding and we felt confident that everything would be sorted for us. She also recommended both the florist and the company who provided our chair covers/balloons etc. who were both local companies and were excellent. Cheryl responded quickly to every enquiry we had throughout the 10 months leading up to the wedding from the moment we booked The Bobsleigh and offered advice wherever necessary. She handled all the hotel room bookings for us for both the night before and the night of the wedding as we had a lot of family and friends who were travelling long distances to be with us.

James Cregg was excellent in both the week leading up to our wedding and the wedding day itself. He ran through timings for the entire wedding day with us a week before and we were left feeling 100% relaxed knowing that everything was in his capable hands.

We held both our ceremony and our reception at The Bobsleigh and James Cregg organised everything for us. James was attentive and made sure we were both aware of where we needed to be whilst allowing us to enjoy the day.

We would both like to say a big thank you to everyone who was involved on the day and helped to make our day so special – all the staff worked relentlessly to make sure everything went smoothly.

About the food . . firstly the canapés! Unfortunately we didn’t manage to actually taste these for ourselves but they were very much enjoyed, and commented on, by all our guests! We went with the Chef’s choice which was obviously a good choice on our part.

The food for our wedding reception was outstanding. The pate for starters was favourably commented on by quite a few of our guests and all the main courses were steaming hotel which considering there was 70 people for a sit down meal was a pleasant surprise. The chocolate mousse that we chose for dessert was delicious and it wouldn’t have been a surprise to find the plates licked clean! We had a few guests with special food requirements and The Bobsleigh Hotel catered for them all without any problems and with the same exceptional standard as the main food choices.

Our view is that if guests are going out of their way to come up to you and say how lovely the food was, it was obviously good!

Overall in one word – exceptional!
The hotel and its grounds are beautiful, providing stunning locations for photographs whatever the weather! The hotel itself has a warm, friendly atmosphere and as we had quite a few children in the wedding party, we were able to relax knowing that they could run around without damaging anything.

The staff could not have been any more helpful and in particular both Cheryl and James were delightful to work with, both in the planning of the wedding and on the day itself.

I would expect a bride to be nervous in the week leading up to her wedding but I can honestly say that if you book a wedding with The Bobsleigh, you have nothing to worry about!

The grounds of the hotel as well as the Acacia Suite first attracted us to the hotel. The professional manner of the staff was also excellent from our very first visit.

The wedding co-ordinator was fantastic, their efforts and professionalism can not be faulted. Cheryl is very efficient and friendly. Peter was fantastic on the day, he was very good at staying behind the scenes and working his magic from there!

The staff on the day were friendly, efficient, proactive, professional, well mannered, patient, the list goes on! Their hard work was appreciated not only by us but by all our guests. Thank you.

The quality of the food was superb! Well presented, tasty and cooked to perfection. It was also wonderful to learn that the runner beans were picked fresh on the day from the hotel garden!

The Resident DJ was the best! Alex was amazing. He played everything that we asked for (and in order). The guests were up dancing and enjoyed his set. Also loved the over head projector.

Overall we can not thank you and praise you all enough! You went out of your way to ensure that everything ran smoothly, on time and to perfection. Your professional manner, patience and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. All of our needs and much, much more were met and for that we cant begin to express how much gratitude we have for you all. From meeting with Amy, discussions with Cheryl and finalising details with Peter from beginning to end our experience has been truly memorable and one that we will remember forever!

We found Cheryl helpful and very well organised throughout the planning for our wedding. This made planning our wedding day a very positive experience.

James and his team were all helpful and friendly throughout our wedding day. The day felt well organised which meant that we could focus on enjoying our day and being with all of our guests.

The food was excellent and there was loads of it!

Overall we had a perfect wedding day at the Bobsleigh. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the day, even offering towels to put on the grass so that I could have lovely outside photos without getting a muddy dress after the rain! The food was excellent and commented on by many of our guests. We just couldn’t quite finish it all and now I know why you said confidently that you never run out of food when we were planning the wedding. The night security man also makes good coffee and shouldn’t be forgotten!

The staff did an extremely good job. If anything was needed it was retrieved straight away. There was one waiter, Peter, who was exceptional as he alwa**eemed to be there. He also looked after me and my family when we came for a meal the night before.
The food was unbelievable. We had pretty much decided we were going to ask for something that wasn’t on the menu until we came in for the trial and tasted the beef. It was gorgeous and accompanied by the perfect amount of potatoes and veg which tasted almost as good.
Overall the day went perfectly as far as the venue and everything that came with it was concerned. We could not have asked for anything more. The grounds were perfect for the children to run around in and we have some lovely photographs of the day. We had a lovely wedding day and would highly recommend the hotel to others.

Cheryl, I just really wanted to say thank you for everything. The day was amazing and all the staff couldnt have been more helpful and brilliant! Peter was fantastic and really made everything go smoothly. Everyone truley made it the best day of our lives and we couldnt have asked for a better wedding day.
