We got married in early July and the The BoE made a very special day even more special.
Jo and the team were fantastic from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble and they were incredibly accommodating to a few last minute changes (even finding food for an extra guest who hadn't read 'evening invite only!').
The day itself went without a hitch and many wedding afficionados descibed it as one of the best venues they had been to.
A tip would be listen to Jo when she suggests florists/DJs/etc
Oh and the food was great!

My partner and I got married in May this year at BOE. The location was really good for us and the staff certainly delivered on the day. The planning and the attention to detail ( we all have our own needs!) was superb. Also, all the staff were very friendly which was important to us. Everybody was attentive to our needs and the service was excellent. The permanent marquee facility is spacious and excellent for a wedding. Price was reasonable as well. Thanks for making our day a fantastic one BOE!

From start to finish everything was perfect- a wedding reception tailored to our budget, the worlds best wedding venue planner in Cathy and a wonderful beautiful venue- The cricket game on the green made it picture perfect. And wonderful food, and great service on the day from Glenn and Jo and the team. Our day was planned with a really personal touch and Bank of England is definately to be recommended!

We couldn't have asked for a better wedding reception. All the guests thought the food was excellent (canapés, wedding breakfast and evening buffet) and all the advice from Jo Blythe was invaluable.
The events team put in so much effort and in such an effortless way and made us feel that our wedding was really special.

We got married in a local church and then held our reception at the Bank of England Sports Centre. The staff were all extremely helpful from the moment of our visit until our big day. Lots of our family and friends commented on how nice and helpful they were which made for a lovely atmosphere.

We looked at many venues in the south London/Surrey area but we choose this one mainly because of the large reception room. We wanted to keep all of our guests in one room, rather than have a separate bar etc where you can often get segregated groups. The bar and dance floor can be moved if you want a different layout and the room can be made smaller if you feel it is too big. We had 130 guests and it was just right for us. They also have a separate area with lots of games such as giant jenga for the kids which came in very handy.

The food was delicious, and again lots of our friends and family commented on how it was the best wedding dinner they had tasted.

We had a winter wedding here, but the grounds are lovely so I think a summer one would be fantastic too for photos.

The staff plan most things for you so you don’t need to worry about remembering everything because they prompt you. There were no hidden charges and we all thought it was very good value for money.

So if you want a lovely venue and fantastic staff then hold your reception at the Bank of England Sports Centre.

Wonderful venue for your wedding reception.
We had an amazing day despite the weather!
In the run up to the day, the team helped us with the key decisions; they were relaxed and informal, but really professional - this is a team who want you to have the perfect day.
On the day itself, the food and wine was amazing and very good value for money.
I would highly recommend the bank of england for your wedding reception

Bank of England as a Wedding Venue.......

Our daughter’s wedding was in February. The weather cold but dry. The setting was beautiful particularly with the bare trees and blue sky for photographs. The driveway up to the venue gave ample photography opportunities of the cars and bride.

The Green Room where the ceremony took place was large and comfortable. We hired chair covers in the colour theme of the wedding and the room looked fantastic, although I am sure that even without the chair covers, the room would have been lovely.

The reception was in the Marquee but this is no ordinary marquee as it is permanent building with excellent heating and toilet facilities. The Marquee will take up to 200+ people with its own dance floor installed where our daughter and husband requested. There were only 80 people at our wedding but by cleverly placed tables did not look under-populated. The tables were laid perfectly with no detail overlooked. Candles amongst the table centres and clever lighting made the room look stunning, especially with the twinkly lights outside as it became dark. A proper sparkling winter wedding.

The food was delicious and I can only compliment Glenn, and his team, with their expertise of providing a quality meal expertly delivered to the guests. The attention given to the top table and others were equally excellent. This continued throughout the afternoon and into the evening which included a tasty buffet. The tables were cleared quickly, quietly and almost invisibly allowing the festivities to carry on uninterrupted.

Finally, hats off to Jo B. She ran a very efficient wedding from the onset. She gave plenty of helpful advice prior to the occasion helping the bride and groom in ensuring their day went without a hitch and oversaw all eventualities on the day itself.

Well done, the Bank of England

We had our wedding at the Bank of England in Feb of this year and the staff there made it truly perfect. We met Jo when we enquired a year or so before the wedding, although we loved the venue we also felt that she would make it perfect as she had so many ideas of how to make it special. As we were having it in February we wanted a magical winter wedding with a cosy feel and as we only had 70 guests wanted to ensure that the venue wouldnt feel empty. Jo along with her colleagues advised us on ways to do this and it felt amazing with candles, fairy lights on trees and the chequeured dance floor in the perfect place near the bar.

We had the ceremony in the green room which is decorated lovely so felt special and then had the drinks reception in the balcony bar which was perfect while we had our photos taken downstairs by the trees.

We had Glenn as the toastmaster which was brilliant as he did a great job and him and the staff made the day run smoothly.

Lastly I would like to comment on the food!! Normally people forget what they eat at weddings as it is not normally that memorable, however guests still comment on it at our wedding as it was delicious. We met the chef and did tastings and it was a hard decision as they were all divine. We also had an evening buffet which was delicious and again the chef listened to what we wanted and catered to our needs perfectly...

I cannot praise Jo, Glenn and the other staff enough and can only say that it was the perfect wedding day and venue for us...I just wish we could do it again!

Admin:  Wow - sounds like a truly fantastic wedding day. I certainly pays to discuss ideas with the venue owners and managers. Many have years of experience and can help with layout options and decoration ideas. Sounds like a great winter wedding. Bob
