Everything was first class

Penny & Ben are now on their honeymoon but I know they would send their thanks if they were here. Saturday was ever so special and it is down to the hard-work from everyone at Twycross. From the set-up of the room, the seriously scrummy food, and the evening hospitality everything was first class - I never heard a murmur of complaint about anything - now that's an achievement. Personally I was overwhelmed by the attitude of every member of staff - from the startled young man at reception who was asked to look after the cake, the lovely guy who drove the 'taxi' from the elephant enclosure, and to those who helped me to my car when clearing up on Sunday - they all extended a feeling of warmth & helpfulness rarely seen these days.

Not forgetting the lovely Alma - she was so re-assuring to me personally about the cake - I just felt we were in capable hands - she continued throughout the wedding to check that we had everything we wanted. Please make sure she knows how I felt she was a kindred soul - just what every Mother-of-the-bride needs!

And to you Charlotte my thanks. I know Ben fires off e-mails and spreadsheets as frequently as other people breathe, and for a time I added to your stress by suggesting rickshaws(!) not to mention the very last minute request for the overhead projector (so sorry) but you always rose to the occasion - well done for orchestrating all this.

A wonderful day

Thank you for a wonderful day. Everything went perfectly as we planned, thank you so much for the hard work. Everyone was extremely helpful and eager to a**t in every way. No grumpy faces to be seen. Everyone was very professional and knew what needed to be done. We felt like VIPs for the day.

I loved how well the trip on the land train went and how much people looked forward to looking round. The drinks by the elephants were brilliant and kept everyone entertained.

The reception food was very good and way above many guests expectations. The service again here was exceptional and the fillings perfect.

The face painting went down extremely well with young and old and has been a favourite anecdote for many of the guests. The disco was good, I was pleased with the dj, he played exactly what we wanted.

The only negative was we did not get to see the snow leopards. But if they could be conditioned to like drum and bass we would very close to perfection!

Exceptional!

The day was fantastic for us both and one we will never forget. The team there were so accomodating to our needs on the day and coped so well with all the delays, you wouldn't have believed we turned up 45 mins late in the first place! The food and service throughout was exceptional throughout.

We would thoroughly recommend the venue

We were looking for a venue that was not going to cost the earth and would offer something a little different- away from the usual trend of formal stately home. You provided us with a day that surpassed expectation that was well organised and different.

A number of the guests were small children, which had a great deal to do with the choice of venue. It was great that they could go off and enjoy the zoo and play ground. The older guests who took advantage of a walk around the zoo after the breakfast all said they had had a fantastic day and it was really useful to have the two separate rooms for the evening event, I know the older guests who stayed in Windows on the Wild were impressed that the staff were delivering trays of buffet to them. For those children who had not been to a wedding before, the standard has now been set and they are apparently all expecting weddings to be held at zoos!

It was excellent value for money, top quality service and an all round great day. I think it is a wedding people will remember, we wouldn’t have changed anything and would thoroughly recommend the venue to other people. If this seems a little over the top with compliments, it is because they were well and truly deserved, making our wedding day so special. Thanks must go to the outdoor staff too. They were charming and made sure guests were ferried back to their cars whenever they left, especially as it was heavy rain later into the night. The staff had ‘umbrellas at the ready’. Well done to them too.
Once again, thank you for all your help and all the staff at the zoo.

What a splendid reception!

I have just returned home after attending the above wedding, the reception of which was held at the Zoo.

I would just like to say what a splendid reception it was - quite one of the best I have attended in many a year.
The staff were polite and very helpful; the conference room in which the reception was held was tastefully decorated right down to the linen serviettes which echoed the colour of the wedding. The food was beautifully cooked and there was plenty of it and the choice fitted in with all tastes. I really cannot praise the event enough, hence this email.

The Zoo as a venue has much to offer, especially if there are young children in the party as the animals are a draw and are favourite with them. No problem in keeping them happy. A very happy choice.

Sincerely,

June Langan

Dear All

Just a brief note to say very many thanks to everybody at the zoo involved in the arrangements and on the day of Rozzie and Dave's reception on Saturday

From the change in plans for the Drinks Reception, Arrival and Greetings, Wedding Breakfast, Evening Reception right through to the driver of the buggy cheerfully taking the very last guest to the car park / coach park through the pouring rain at 12.30 + you handled everything superbly

The food (and service) was excellent and the snow leopards were the best children's entertainers I have ever seen !!

I believe this was the first wedding you have done ? - if so you have set your standard very high

With many thanks once again for a very special day

Dave
