County Tyrone is the largest county in Northern Ireland and has the reputation of being one of the most beautiful. It borders County Donegal of the Republic of Ireland on its western periphery.
Prehistoric sites, Iron Age forts, castles, and stately homes will all vie for your attention, as will the more natural features such as the Sperrin Mountains and the beautiful River Foyle.
Omagh is the largest town in the county and has a picturesque setting on the river Stule. It is a busy commercial centre with a large number of bars, restaurants, and nightclubs, but prides itself on a friendly relaxing ambiance that is missing from larger towns and cities. As in the rest of Co. Tyrone, the variety of venues for civil weddings and reception parties is numerous. |
