Standing high on Richmond's Hill, in the heart of London's countryside, The Petersham commands breathtaking views over one of the most famous and most attractive stretches of the River Thames. Eight miles from the centre of London, the West End and Heathrow Airport, The Petersham's location is simply unparalleled. The hotel was built in 1865 and is privately owned by the Dare family. The original character of the hotel emanates from the hotel's architecture which, as well as its landmark tower, also features the longest unsupported stone staircase in England. The Petersham is licensed for civil ceremonies for up to forty guests. However, if you have chosen to hold your ceremony elsewhere, we are very happy to host a reception for up to seventy guests or a celebratory wedding breakfast for up to thirty. There are 61 bedrooms available on a room and breakfast basis, including the Penthouse. The Petersham is also an ideal 'first night' venue, with sixty superb rooms, including river view rooms, suites and the famous Petersham Penthouse.
