Venue description
Sitting discreetly on the edge of the hamlet of Hopton Wafers, Hopton Court is set amidst 1800 acres of rolling Shropshire countryside, allowing guests to enjoy exhilarating views of the Clee Hills and surrounding area. Just west of Cleobury Mortimer, Hopton Wafers is situated between Kidderminster and Ludlow, not far from Bridgnorth, making Hopton easily accessible from South Shropshire, Worcestershire and the Midlands.
The large, five-bay, three-storey house dates back to 1776 and is attributed to John Nash. The magnificent landscaped grounds are the creation of Humphrey Repton and provide endless opportunities for your wedding photographs.
For over 200 years Hopton Court has been the home of the Woodward family, and it is Christopher Woodward who has spent his time and expertise in organising the refurbishment of the property to its present high standards.
The Conservatory ~
Situated in the rose garden, the unique Victorian cast iron conservatory offers a fairytale setting for your Civil Ceremony, accommodating 70 seated guests. The flowering shrubs and plants, accompanied by the Mediterranean décor also provide the perfect location for drinks and photography, leading out to the beautiful gardens, with the backdrop of the main house.
The Coach House ~
Opening out onto its own gravel Courtyard, the fully refurbished Coach House still retains some of its original features including the stables and tack room, and provides an ideal location for your Wedding Breakfast, seating up to 60 guests. For larger parties a marquee can be positioned in the Courtyard and linked directly to the Coach House, accommodating up to 150 guests for dining, or for use as a separate dancing area in the evening.
Small Weddings at Hopton Court ~
No Wedding at Hopton Court is too small. We recognise that there are many couples who do not want the complications of a large Wedding, but nevertheless wish to get married in beautiful countryside surroundings, in the company of a few friends and family. We offer a Small Wedding Package for up to 30 guests. Your Civil Ceremony will take place in the Victorian Conservatory, followed by a drinks reception whilst your photography takes place within the grounds, followed by your choice of a traditional afternoon tea or a light fork buffet.
