A unique wedding venue in a family home where we help you create your day. Dating back to the mid C16th but with C13th foundations, this unique property has a most wonderful atmosphere.
If you are looking for a romantic, intimate and familial occasion or a day that will be small and elegant or just something very different this could be the place for you. Whether your ceremony involves just you and your witnesses or you need room for 130 we have a space for you.
Within historic Abbey House choose the paneled hall for parties of 40, or the library with its beautiful views over the river gardens for up to 100. From within the gardens you might select the light airy Belvedere with its tree top vistas for any number of guests up to 130, whether for your ceremony or a buffet reception. Also the perfect venue for a more formal seated occasion for up to 100 guests. Deep within the gardens is The Bower House within which just the bride, groom and witnesses assemble for the exchange of vows. Other guests may join you gathering outside to witness the events.
We give you the services of our professional wedding planner to do as much or as little as you'd wish to ensure the smooth running of your day whether you want just a civil ceremony and photographs in the beautiful gardens or stay on to follow with a reception from just canapes, cake and champagne, to a four course bespoke wedding breakfast complete with harp, string quartet and even a magician for the children!
