Nestled discreetly in the Worcestershire countryside, Laughern Hill is a Grade II listed property incorporating the Vinery, Summerhouse with Wishing Well Garden, Hidden Garden and Mulberry Lawn which can all be used to create a bespoke indoor or outdoor wedding experience.
We offer a unique blend of indoor:outdoor options - venues which offer protection from the elements but can easily be adapted and opened up within minutes on fine days.
Laughern Hill is a brand new venue selected for its beauty, originality and versatility - redesigned with the help of some imaginative architects and Malvern Flower Show Gold Medal Winner, garden designer John Steed. Together, we have created an exceptional backdrop for an unforgettable day.
We offer two civil ceremony locations and space for receptions of all sizes from less than 10 to over 400. We offer understated elegance and charm at affordable prices. We have over 30 years event experience providing tailor made experiences for clients around the country.
This beautiful setting must be visited to be appreciated: a countryside wedding only five miles from central Worcester.
The Vinery ~
Built to house grape vines over 150 years old, the ceiling of this stunning glass structure is adorned with producing vines complemented by a spectacular wall of fragrant roses and clematis designed by a Malvern Flower Show Gold Medal winner. The Vinery is one of our two indoor:outdoor locations. Three walls and the ceiling are glass or transparent and the long, south facing side has shutters which are removed on a fine day to open onto the beautiful gardens and Worcestershire countryside. This is one of two sites available for Civil Ceremonies and is ideal for either Ceremonies seating 50 or receptions of up to 60.
The Summerhouse ~
One of the UK's "bijou outdoor wedding venues" and Worcestershire's smallest Civil Ceremony venue, the Victorian Summerhouse is the perfect spot for a very intimate wedding ceremony. It can take up to 10 at a squeeze! The Wishing Well Garden combines with the Summerhouse for a unique location to host your Ceremony. A pagoda is constructed around the Garden with a canvas of sails overhead that pull across in the event of inclement weather. This configuration can seat 100+ guests. For receptions, the Summerhouse and Garden pagoda combination provide ample area for 90 seated guests at round tables and more standing. For larger receptions the Summerhouse, Wishing Well Garden and Vinery combine for a further 50 guests to be seated or a maximum of 200 guests standing.
The Summerhouse/Wishing Well Garden can be used in conjunction with the Vinery and either (or both) the Mulberry Lawn and the Hidden Garden.
Hidden Garden ~
Originally the vegetable garden to the main house, the 80ft x 80ft Hidden Garden is surrounded by 8ft brick walls guaranteeing privacy within a beautiful space. A marquee can be erected at any time of the year for larger parties accommodating up to 200 seated guests and 300+ for standing buffets.
The Mulberry Lawn ~
This is the south facing central lawn in front of the Laughern Hill Manor House. The 300 year old Mulberry Tree and wooden bridge crossing the flower filled haha make for a traditionally English backdrop and are ideal for photographs. Across the bridge stands a rare and magnificent Wedding Cake Tree - a photographic must!
This site can take marquees for up to 300 guests and can also be used in conjunction with the Vinery, Summerhouse and Wishing Well Garden for ceremonies and/or receptions.
Civil Ceremonies & Wedding Packages ~
The two areas licensed for Civil Ceremonies are our inside:outside locations the Vinery and Summerhouse with Wishing Well Garden. Our aim is to be flexible so we have no preset or binding wedding package. We would rather help create a tailor-made day. So, if your Civil Ceremony is conducted at Laughern Hill there is no obligation for the wedding breakfast reception to be held here as well. Alternatively, we are happy to be the venue for a reception even if the marriage ceremony is being conducted elsewhere.
