How to search the directory for a venue
There are several ways to search this site. The main search panel on the home page allows you to search for venues by name, by town, county or by venue type (hotel, castle, barn etc). You don't have to fill in all the fields just those you know about. For example, if you just wanted to see all the venues in sheffield just type 'sheffield' into the City field and click 'Search'.
How to view venues on a map
You can call up a map of any county in the UK and a selection of large towns and cities.
Just click the 'City and County maps' tab on the top of the search form on the front page and select a place name. Then click 'Go'. You'll be presented with a map of the area covered in position markers. Click on each one to see more about te venue and links to more information.
You can also enter the name of a town and the radius you want to search nearby and view a map dotted with local venues.
What's on a venue's page
All the venues have the address and contact number for the venue but some have a lot more. Our premium venues ave lots of pictures and useful information covering everything from capacity to whether they have disco facilities, parking, catering arrangements and so on.
It is the venues themselves that control the content on their pages, putting as much information on as they want and updating them as often as they like. If you have questions about a venue, you can e-mail them from their pages. We aren't able to help with venue specific questions.
How to e-mail a venue & request a brochure
To contact a venue and request more information including a brochure and prices the best option is to click on the 'email venue' link near the top of the page. Fill out the form and we'll send them your query.
Late availability dates
Finding a venue in the right area and within your budget can be quite a task. Unfortunately it doesn't stop their. Many venues get booked up at the weekends several years in advance. We have introduced a late availability calendar on the site which some of the venues use to promote dates they still have available or last minute cancellations. You can view a specific venues dates by clicking on the tab at the top of the venues page or view all the venues with late availability by clicking the 'Late availability' link in the main left hand menu.
Booking a venue
We are not a booking agency and so wouldn't be able to help you find or book a venue. However the best option is to request brochures from all the venues you like the look of. Once you have a short list, enquire about prices and available dates. Finally you should visit the venue and meet the staff face to face to discuss catering and other arrangements.
