In the few weeks since we last wrote about our US site, we’ve been steadily adding new venues. It’s still early days but progress is good and it seems like the right time to run through a few of the more stunning new additional. Take a look at this picture of The Cove Cay Gold and Country Club in Florida. Doesn’t it just conjure up images of dozens of Hollywood movies over the years? The wedding party under the palm trees, the sun shining, the sea just beyond. The Cay View ballroom is available for the reception afterwards.
If that isn’t quite your cup of tea, then just across the Old Tampa Bay in Tampa itself, there’s the Florida Aquarium. Among the aunts and uncles and distant cousins attending the wedding, you might be able to spot moray eels, blacktip sharks, stingrays and seahorses. It goes without saying that the wedding photos would be pretty cool. The ceremony itself would take place before the immense, 500,000 gallon, floor to ceiling tank with 2,000 fish and other sea creatures in it. You wouldn’t be confined to the aquarium itself, as they offer a catamaran for sunset cruises for 130.
The Hacienda Siesta Alegre is a world away. It’s Spanish colonial residence in the foothills of El Yunque rainforest in Puerto Rico in the Caribbean. It combines homeliness and history and wonderful, panoramic views of mountain and sea. There’s lush vegetation, mahogany window frames, a great stone fireplace and the warm, fragrant breeze in the evening. We’ve only got room for one photo here but a peep at our US site should give a more complete picture of the exotic venue. If you’re wondering what Puerto Rico is doing on our US weddings site, well it’s a self-governing, unincorporated territory of the United States.
We’ll report on progress again soon and let you know about a few more evocative and atmospheric venues.
