Local village halls and small public halls in towns are a very popular choice for a wedding reception, particularly if you are on somewhat of a tight budget. The hire cost of such premises will be very reasonable and friends and family working together or perhaps a local outside catering firm could arrange the catering.
Some town halls are also of course where the local registrar has his/her office. Many such buildings are therefore equipped with a special marriage room where the ceremonies are performed. These are well furnished and have sufficient seating for your guests.
Registrars are very good at performing marriage ceremonies and add their own little personal touches to the occasion; this makes a civil ceremony more enjoyable and memorable for everyone attending.
