Jurassic Coast wedding venues
The Jurassic Coast refers to the coastal area between Orcombe Point, close to Exmouth in Devon, and the Old Harry Rocks near Swanage in East Dorset. The entire area has been designated a World Heritage Site and is both fascinating and beautiful. The Jurassic Coast’s gateway villages and towns range in type from modern seaside towns to sleepy villages. Budleigh Salterton, famous for its stunning red cliffs, was visited by such literary giants as Anthony Trollope, Noel Coward and P.G. Wodehouse. Branscombe is a picturesque village with thatched cottages, gardens with climbing roses and hanging baskets. King George III frequented the historic seaside resort of Weymouth.
Wedding reception venues in the area include country houses, hotels, inns and historic buildings. More unusual venues include a windmill and botanical gardens. Hotels range from stately Regency town hotels to magnificent country manor houses.
