Lake District wedding venues
The Lake District is situated in the North West of England in the county of Cumbria. A favourite with walkers, it is famous for its spectacular and varied scenery. Its lakes and mountains have inspired the writings of William Wordsworth and the Lakeland Poets and it also features in the writings and drawings of Beatrix Potter. It provides a stunning backdrop for any special event.
The range of wedding/civil ceremony/reception venues is impressive and includes castles/forts, hotels, stately homes, steamboats, conference centres and country clubs. Hotels range from luxury manor houses standing in their own grounds to smaller family-run hotels. Both can offer stunning views of the surrounding area or lakes. For smaller, intimate weddings there is the option of an historic motor boat racing club or a solar-powered wooden launch. More unusual venues are a racecourse, a museum and a grass covered building named after Cumbria’s ancient Celtic kingdom.
