The Shropshire Hills are an area of outstanding natural beauty lying west of the River Severn towards the English and Welsh border. Offa’s Dyke, a massive earthwork barrier running north-south for miles on end dating back to Saxon times. Romance and history also intertwine in this region, with the legendary King Arthur’s marriage to Lady Guinevere taking place in this area.
The market town of Ludlow, sitting on the banks of the River Teme, is the largest centre of population in the region and boasts a charming and relaxing conviviality that is sometimes lost with many larger towns these days. The friendliness of the local people ensures that visiting the numerous local bars and restaurants is a pleasure, and to wander aimlessly around the weekly market a joy.
Venues for weddings and receptions are more prevalent in Ludlow but are also available in the smaller towns and villages throughout the Shropshire Hills.
