With a history that spans 400 years, Mercure Whately Hall Hotel began life as a coaching inn and boasts a fine traditon of hosting wedding receptions since the early 18th Century. Once can only guess who attended these early events, but we do know that our beautiful property has entertained the likes of King James II (1687), Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver's Travels (1726) and indeed, William Shakespeare and Benjamin Franklin.
Overlooking our beautifully manicured gardens, either of our two function rooms can provide that perfect setting for your special occasion. With magnificent oak panelling; old closed fireplaces, iron chandeliers - all work towards creating the most charming atmosphere for you and your guests.
