The Mount York is set in 16 acres of grounds, within a Conservation Area in the heart of the City of York. Large expansive lawns and mature gardens create a peaceful and secluded setting for the historic school buildings.
When you are planning that stunning once in a lifetime event, you will want a setting that is not just a blank backdrop to the flowers and champagne, but an exquisitely dressed stage that will make your big day unforgettable. Your venue should not shrink into the background, but play a major role at your wedding. It should offer character, history and beauty. It should put your guests at their ease, and encourage them to stroll, mingle and talk. It should be the starting point for beautiful memories that will linger long after everyone has departed. For that, you need an exceptional location ...
Photo opportunities are endless within the grounds and the historical buildings, including a sweeping staircase and the Lindley Murray Summer House, a most beautiful vintage summer house.
Featuring the Arts and Crafts Dining Room, built in 1912, a stunning room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the gardens and grounds, creating a perfect setting for The Wedding Breakfast. The Dining Room will seat 180 guests .
The Main Hall, which is ideal for ceremonies for up to 180 guests and evening receptions for 200 guests. A grand piano is located in the Hall, which is perfect for ceremonies and drinks reception entertainment. Live music can be arranged for the day and evening receptions.
Drinks and Canape Receptions can be held on the Terrace and in the gardens, as well as in the historical Esther Tuke Room, with stunning chandeliers and views to the gardens. Live music can be played in the gardens for the Drinks Reception.
