The Glen-Yr-Afon is a privately owned Victorian Villa situated in the lovely rural county of Monmouthshire in South Wales. The original house was built in 1868 and overlooks the banks of the River Usk. The Glen-yr-Afon House Hotel in Usk has been specialising in weddings for over 36 years. In that time, we have built up a reputation that we believe is un-paralleled in this area.
At the Glen-yr-Afon we are reluctant to give you 'set' menus or 'set' seating. We believe that your wedding reception should be as individual as you are.
From the moment the bride steps from her carriage our neatly uniformed staff are in attendance to ensure her day runs smoothly.
As the newlyweds and their guests are welcomed into the hotel's comfortable lounges, they will enjoy a relaxed, informal 'at home' atmosphere that is often lost in larger venues.
We understand how much work is needed to organise your day, so allow us to take care of your reception so that you may enjoy your wedding day knowing that you're in good hands.

Exit the M4 at Junction 24, at the Coldra roundabout take the A449 to Monmouth. Turn off the A449 at the Usk junction and join the A472 to Usk. Stay on this road and be aware that you will be entering a 30 M.P.H. Zone. Follow the main road through the main street and over the river bridge. The road bears right from the river bridge. Shortly after this bridge you will see a sign for The Glen-Yr-Afon House Hotel which is on the left handside of the road.

Exit the M5 at Junction 8, join the M50 and follow this road which will become the A40/A449.Turn off the A449 at the Usk junction and join the A472 to Usk.
