Venue type:
Historic Building Description: Quite simply exquisite, Queen Victoria’s favourite home in superb grounds sweeping down to the sea, is a regal backdrop for wedding day celebrations on a grand scale.
Its richly-furnished rooms, wonderful works of art and original memorabilia from the time when it was a retreat away from the pressures of state for Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and their nine children, make it a uniquely impressive venue.
A series of rooms inside the sumptuous house may be hired for exclusive drinks receptions and dinners for up to 80 guests, although the property does not have a wedding license for the ceremony itself. They include the Indian-inspired Durbar Room, filled with treasures given to Queen Victoria and the elegant Victoria Hall and adjoining Orangery, with doors leading out to garden terraces, filled with the scents of flowers. Marquees on Osborne’s private beach or expansive lawns overlooking the sea can host stylish celebrations for hundreds – or even thousands – of guests.
