Venue type: Historic Building Description: Weddings and partnership ceremonies at Combermere Abbey - an historic estate on the Shropshire/Cheshire borders, take place in The Glasshouse. Sitting in the heart of the only Fruit Tree Maze in the world at the end of a mile long drive, the elegant fan shaped building full of style and drama, is surrounded by beautiful Walled Gardens. Guests enjoy complete peace, privacy and excellent service with exclusive use, however large or small the gathering. With 180 degree views of the gardens, this light and airy room seats up to 120 for a ceremony and reception drinks. The Glasshouse is set up with chairs and tables and has toilets, catering kitchen and bridal dressing room.
The Walled Garden Pavilion - our new reception and dining space for up to 150, is available between 1st March and 31st December. This beautiful semi-permanant structure is fully equipped with lighting, carpets, tables, chairs, bar, dance floor, toilets and catering facilities. The Pavilion is not available during January and February.
A second licensed room - The Beckett Room is available for small weddings up to 40 between November and March.
. Our niminated caterer specializes in an excellent range of menus and budgets, and uses local foods as well as other services. . Our nominated Bar and Beverage company includes a variety of Combermere inspired non-alcoholic drinks.
• Our dedicated ‘Front of House Manager’ will be on duty throughout the wedding to take care of the details, and there is private parking on site.
• Accommodation on site for up to 27 close family and friends is available in our 5* cottages. A 2 night package includes breakfast hampers and maid service. Additional accommodation is available 4 miles away.
• A dedicated hideaway can be rented by the honeymoon couple – a romantic C19 Gothic Lodge on the estate, complete with breakfast hamper and champagne for their bridal night.
