Historic Building Description: The City Rooms is an excellent City centre venue for both small and large weddings. The historic venue first conceived in 1792, was intended to become Leicester’s first hotel, to house the visitors to the Leicester Races held at Victoria Park. The hotel, however, was never completed and was subsequently sold with the ground floor being used as a coffee house and the upper floors for banquets, wedding receptions and balls. Having completed a careful two year restoration, the building has been given a new lease of life, and is being used as intended for the first time in more than 200 years.
Licensed bar: The bar is situated on the ground floor of this magnificent building, and contains probably one of the most unusual elements of the historic City Rooms - a free standing staircase with cast iron balusters sweeping grandly towards a solid wall Late licence bar: Yes Disco facilities: Yes Accommodation: Four luxurious boutique hotel suites can be found on the third and fourth floor of the building.
