Historic Building Description: Cley Windmill dates from the early 18th Century and is a well-known landmark on the north Norfolk coast. It commands breathtaking views over the salt marshes to Blakeney Point and the sea, while nestling comfortably by the old quay, and alongside the flint-walled cottages of the village.
The windmill has a full wedding licence and can accommodate a maximum of 18 people in our sitting room, which is where the wedding ceremony takes place. Weddings are conducted by the Registrar from North Walsham and these take place at either 13.00h or 16.00h dependent upon whether or not you intend to take the entire accommodation at the windmill.
We offer either just the ceremony itself (and of course with drinks, photographs), or you can book the entire windmill so that you, your friends and relatives can stay in this memorable and romantic venue. Views out over the reed beds to the sea - the sunsets from here are unforgetably lovely.
