The beautiful inter denominational Crichton Church and romantic parkland � just made for wedding photography and filming - have ensured that it has long been one of the more popular wedding venues for traditional marriages backed up by the professional catering and choice of function facilities at Easterbrook Hall.

Of course, now we also offer civil marriages and partnership ceremonies and have a range of elegant new wedding locations at the Duncan Rooms in Easterbrook Hall designed to meet just these needs � but if you want to make your vows in a particularly romantic part of the grounds - such as by the pool in the Rock Garden - that will be fine with us as well.

Directions by public transport: Dumfries Railway Station is just over 1 mile from the Crichton. There are direct rail services from Glasgow and Carlisle and from the south and Newcastle via Carlisle.

There are several reliable local contractors who provide airport transfer services and taxi services between Dumfries Station and the Crichton. We will be delighted to assist with names and phone numbers.

Directions by car: From Edinburgh (75 miles): From west end of City Bypass take A702 through Biggar to Abingdon. Join M74 at Abingdon. Leave M74 at Junction 15 at Beattock and take A701 to Dumfries. The Crichton is comprehensively signposted from the outskirts of Dumfries. (From Edinburgh Airport follow signs for City Bypass and take A702.)

From Glasgow (74 miles): From city centre take M8 south east to Junction 8 then take the M73 to Junction 1 and the M74 south. Leave M74 at Junction 15 at Beattock and take A701 to Dumfries. The Crichton is comprehensively signposted from the outskirts of Dumfries. (From Glasgow Airport follow signs for City Centre and M8 south.)

From Newcastle (92 miles): From City Centre take A186 west. At A1 Junction take A69 through Hexham to M6 Junction 43 and take M6/A74 north. At Junction 22 take A75 to Dumfries. The Crichton is comprehensively signposted from the outskirts of Dumfries. (From Newcastle Airport follow signs for A69.)
