Woodthorpe Hall is a private 17th century country house set in 2.5 acres of spectacular formal gardens in a very secluded corner of North Derbyshire but conveniently close to Sheffield (South Yorkshire).

We offer the gardens as a venue for your special day during the summer months from May to September with exclusive use for you and your guests. Our aim is to support you to arrange your day in whatever way you want. Each wedding is individually tailored to your wishes and we are happy to accommodate any more unusual requests.

If you would like to be married at Woodthorpe Hall, the ceremony takes place in the Cider press, a stone built open fronted building incorporating a 19th century cider press still very much in use. 62 guests can be seated under a covered area with extra standing room at the back for a further 20 guests.

The gardens provide a superb backdrop for your photographs and can accommodate a marquee reception for up to 200 people.

We are also able to offer free basic camping space for any guests who wish to stay after the festivities.

Directions by car: We are about 12 miles from the M1. Chesterfield junction 29 from the south. Sheffield junction 33 from the north.
