With its magnificent setting in 300 acres of picturesque, rolling Suffolk countryside, a beautifully appointed hotel and superb facilities, The Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa provides one of the most idyllic venues for weddings and functions in East Anglia.
Our main banqueting room, the exquisite Devora Suite, which is named after the Hotel's founder, enjoys superb views over the lake and Constable Country, and can accommodate up to 350 guests for a wedding or dinner. It has a spacious adjoining bar and can open out onto both a large balcony to the south and an expansive private terrace to the south west which can accommodate up to 200 guests for a BBQ or pre-dinner drinks – a perfect setting for panoramic wedding photographs with an idyllic backdrop of the lake and fairways.
Four other suites with flexible configuration can cater for smaller weddings and functions, serviced by either a satellite bar or the Constable Bar. All our banqueting rooms are fully air-conditioned with natural daylight, stunning views and private terraces.
The Hotel holds a licence for Civil Marriage Ceremonies and with the assistance of an experienced and professional team our tailor-made, comprehensive wedding service is second to none. Directions by public transport: Nearest train station is Colchester North station (served from London Liverpool Street)approximately 8 miles by car from the venue. There is a taxi rank outside the station, which is well supported by local firms.
Alternatively there is a bus which runs from Colchester to Sudbury and stops at the end of the driveway.
Directions by car: FROM LONDON/CHELMSFORD/COLCHESTER: Leave the M25 at junction 28 (Brentwood), and join the A12 signposted to Colchester. Exit the A12 at the Colchester Central turn-off, picking up the A134 signposted to Sudbury. The distance from the A12 turn-off to the club is approximately 8 miles. Once on the A134, pass through the village of Nayland, ignoring any signage to Stoke-By-Nayland. Once in Leavenheath (still on the A134), pass the Hare and Hounds Public House on the right hand side, and continue a further 200 yards turning right on to the B1068. This is signposted Stoke by Nayland and Stoke by Nayland Golf Club. Proceed along the B1068 for approximately 1.5 miles, and the club is located, and signposted on the right hand side.
FROM MIDLANDS/CAMBRIDGE/SUDBURY: Join the A14 at the M1 / M6 junction and travel eastwards towards Cambridge. Continue on the A14 past Newmarket to Bury St Edmunds and exit the A14 at the third exit for Bury St Edmunds signposted A134 Bury St Edmunds / Sudbury. Travel south to Sudbury and remain on the A134 in the Direction of Colchester. Pass through the village of Newton Green and upon reaching the village sign for Leavenheath, turn left onto the B1068 to Stoke by Nayland (also signed for The Stoke by Nayland Club). After approximately 1.5 miles the Club is located on the right.
FROM NORWICH/IPSWICH: Leave Norwich on the A140 and join the A14 in the direction of lpswich. Join A12 in London direction. After approximately 5 miles, take the B1068 signposted Higham and Stoke by Nayland (this is a right turn via a filter across the dual carriageway). Continue along the B1068 passing through the village of Stoke by Nayland. The Stoke by Nayland Club is situated on the left hand side, approximately one mile from the village, towards Leavenheath.
