Situated just over the Devon/Cornwall border, a few minutes from the A38 and an easy thirty minute drive from Plymouth, we are centrally located in the Gateway to Cornwall - ideally located for guests travelling from any part of the Country. In fact, our location is perfect - slightly inland (we are just three miles from the sea) - but without any coastal drama and high winds.
Ceremonies and Receptions take place overlooking our stunning grounds and the romantic Looe Valley. We hold a licence to conduct Civil Weddings and Partnership Ceremonies and you can take your vows with the backdrop of breath taking scenery.
The ambience and look of a private country house is purposely retained at The Well House. You will find no reception, no room numbers on the doors, no racks of tourist leaflets in the hall and no plastic credit card signs. What you will find however is luxury and comfort together with a friendly service which is second to none.
We can hold smaller, intimate receptions, for up to 35 guests in our own Restaurant, up to 100 guests in our smaller marquee which is accessed directly from our Restaurant through patio doors, so no outside walk! Or for large receptions, up to 180 guests in our larger marquee on one of our terraced lawns. We also specialise in short notice ceremonies and receptions.
We are the only hotel in Cornwall, and one of a very few in Devon, offering wedding cuisine prepared by 3 AA Rosette chefs. The preparation, cooking and service of it is presided over by our Head Chef who is a 'Master Chef of Great Britain' - so you and your guests are guaranteed the very highest standard of cuisine available. Perfect food, Perfect views and perfect service - all you would expect on your Special Day.
And the experience needn't be wallet numbing either, as we cater for most budgets.
We can even bring our food to your chosen venue!
If you have another non-hotel venue you would like for your reception - from a castle to a marquee in a field - don't worry, we are now offering a unique Master Chef Outside Catering Service and can bring our delicious cuisine direct to your chosen venue. Please see below.

We can take over all the organising to let you relax and enjoy. We can help plan your menu, choose your wine, supply the finest quality ingredients, prepare and cook all the food, supply the waiting staff and even the fully furnished marquee!
We are the only outside catering company in Cornwall, and one of only two in Devon, supplying hot or cold wedding breakfasts and buffets prepared by Master Chefs of Great Britain with Michelin Star and AA Rosette backgrounds. All our food preparation, cooking and service is presided over by our own Head Chef and Master Chef - so you and your guests are guaranteed the very best of the best cuisine available.

Directions by public transport: We are within easy travelling distance from the main railway stations at Liskeard and Plymouth and both Plymouth and Newquay airports.
Directions by car: From London and the Home Counties take the M4 to Bristol, or from the Midlands and North the M6, then the M5 to Exeter and A38 to Plymouth. Cross the Tamar Bridge into Cornwall.
Stay on the A38 towards Liskeard taking the A390 into Liskeard town centre. From the centre of Liskeard take the B3254 to St Keyne.
Follow this road for approximately three miles into the village of St Keyne. At the end of the village, the road sweeps round to the right in front of the church. There is a small lane that carries straight on - signposted to St Keyne Well. Take this lane and you will find the hotel on the left hand side after approximately three quarters of a mile.
