Description: Dating back to the 14th Century, Stoke Brunswick was originally a hunting lodge, given to John Gaunt by his Father Edward III. During its history, the house has been a substantial farm house, split into two cottages and then almost derelict, but was brought back to life by the Dewar family (of Whisky fame) in the early 20th century. Set amidst 25 acres of rolling Sussex countryside, Stoke Brunswick is approached by a meandering, tree lined driveway with views, to the right hand side, across the estate. The House itself is charming in character, is excellently presented and provides an excellent location for an exclusive wedding ceremony and celebration. There are three main function rooms that you may use for your Wedding Reception. The Grand Hall is a splendid Baronial Hall with a Minstrel�s Gallery and flagstone floor and can comfortably accommodate 120 people for a Wedding Breakfast (making use of the Dining Room, which is adjacent to the Hall). The Ceremony Room can be used for a Civil Ceremony, or indeed lends itself perfectly as the dance floor area for your evening party, as it is located adjacent to the main Grand Hall. The Cloisters can be used for additional relaxed seating or indeed for a bar for your evening reception. A licence is in place for Civil Ceremonies to be held in the Ceremony Room for up to 80 guests.
