Venue type: Historic Building
Description: Ettington Park has a long history of weddings many of which are recorded in the main dining room where the Shirley coat of arms is flanked by those of the 67 families that their heirs married into. Although the Norman church can be used for blessings, weddings are normally carried out in the elegant surroundings of the house itself where many of the rooms, including the splendid Library, are licensed for civil ceremonies.
For the reception or party after the wedding you can also choose from a variety of superb rooms. They range from The Chapel where up to 14 people can sit down for an intimate private dinner, to the magnificent Long Gallery where 96 guests can enjoy a sumptuous candle-lit banquet or a party with live music and dancing. The lawns are ideal for setting up marquees. And like many guests you could take over the entire hotel for your own exclusive use. Whatever you decide, we offer a stunning backdrop against which to capture beautiful memories of a very special day.

Additional details: Ettington Park has been in the Shirley family since before the Norman Conquest. Its imposing façade and arched windows still look out onto the 12th century church built on the same site as the Saxon church mentioned along with their ancestors in the Domesday Book. Set in 40 acres of Warwickshire countryside where it nestles in a verdant valley with the River Stour meandering through it, this spectacular Neo-Gothic mansion is still a world apart from the hustle and bustle of modern-day life. Luxuriously furnished with exquisite antiques, hung with fine paintings, and decorated with dozens of friezes that trace its centuries of tradition and heritage, Ettington Park radiates the warmth and affection of the generations that have lived happily in its elegant rooms. Here, you’ll be greeted with such genuine hospitality it will make you feel like a personal guest of the family itself. The courteous attention you receive will set the tone for your entire stay and create an atmosphere that will quickly make you feel completely at home. Far from being intimidated by the house’s magnificence, you’ll feel totally uninhibited. It’s a feeling that is fuelled by fine wines and award-winning cuisine, as well as the comforts provided by the luxurious rooms.
Ettington Park has recently been awarded four Red Star status - the AA inspectors' supreme accolade for the best performing hotels in Britain and Ireland.
