Country House Description: Hazelwood is an early Victorian country guesthouse set in 67 acres of wild river valley in the heart of the South Hams. The house has 14 comfortable bedrooms, many en-suite with valley views. The restaurant is fully licensed and Hazelwood plays host to a variety of concerts, art workshops and cultural weekends throughout the year.
This area of outstanding natural beauty provides peace and tranquility with all the privacy of a private house party in a home from home environment.
Our small and dedicated team will work with you to help create a truly unique experience, tailored to suit you. We have wealth of resources both in-house and from an astounding array of green and ethical suppliers within South Devon.
All our food is locally sourced and organic and fairtrade wherever possible. There are no microwaves here and we only use eco-friendly cleaning products and organic linen. We are proud to be members of South Devon Food and Drink.

There is a good range available including house, sparkling wines and champagnes. A paying bar can also be provided. Directions by public transport: The nearest train station is Totnes. Nearest airports Exeter and Plymouth.
Directions by car: From the North The M5 bypasses Exeter and then becomes the A38 to Plymouth. The road splits twice just south of Exeter. Stay in the right lanes – A38 to Plymouth.
Pass a sign saying Plymouth 17 miles and take the next exit marked Ugborough and Ermington. Turn left off the slip road towards Loddiswell. At crossroads go straight across signposted Loddiswell.
Come to clearly marked “California Cross” with garage on left, pub on right. Turn left immediately after the garage signposted Loddiswell. After approx three quarters of a mile, on the brow of the hill, there is a small lane on the left signposted Hazelwood (brown tourist sign). Turn left along lane for three quarters of a mile. As it starts to go downhill you will see ahead large stone pillars clearly signed ‘Hazelwood’. This is the main entrance to Hazelwood on your right.
Drive through entrance and down steep hill past two cottages on your right. Keep going and the main house is straight ahead of you.
From the South Take A38 towards Exeter, turn off at SOUTH BRENT, turn right at T-junction and immediately right again to rejoin A38 towards Plymouth. Turn off at next exit signed UGBOROUGH and follow as if coming from Exeter above.
