Directions by public transport: By Train: Ravenglass Railway Station is situated just one mile from Muncaster - there are no taxis available unless pre booked. Please call Gosforth taxis 019467 25308
Directions by car: From the South: Leave the M6 at Junction 36. Follow signs to Barrow (A590). Before reaching Barrow turn right at Greenodd onto the A5092 (signposted Western Lake District, Workington and Whitehaven). This joins the A595 which will bring you to Muncaster. The journey will take approximately an hour and a quarter.
From the North: From Carlisle follow the A595 to Cockermouth, and continue on past Whitehaven. This road bypasses Ravenglass and goes straight through to Muncaster. This journey should take about an hour and a half.
From the East:
Take in one of 'Britain's Seven Wonders' as voted by you in an RAC online pole by taking in the beautiful Hard Knott Pass from Ambleside - if you're brave enough!
