Manor House Description: Maunsel House is the family home of the Slade Baronetcy and is a magnificent 13th Century Manor set in 100 acres of stunning parkland at the heart of a sprawling 2,000 acre Estate, comprising of farms, lakes, woodlands, walnut groves, orchards, Somerset Wetlands, cottages and ancient barns. The house offers, ballroom, dining room, library, hall, bar, roaring open fires and 13 exquisite bedrooms complete with four poster beds and en-suite bathrooms. For further accommodation there are picturesque cottages within the estate. The house is licensed for civil ceremonies or church services in our Saxon candelit chapel.
Directions by public transport: By Rail - there is a regular service from Paddington, London to Taunton mainline station. The journey takes 2 1/2 hours. Maunsel House is approximately 6 miles from the station. Taxis are vailable.
By Air - Exeter International Airport is 40 miles away and Bristol International Airport is only 30 miles away.
By Helicopter - Helicopter landing sites are available in the grounds of Maunsel House by prior arrangement.
Directions by car: Leave M5 at junction 24, follow signs towards North Petherton. Go through the village of North petherton and just before the large playing fields on the left turn left onto Newton Road towards North Newton (sign posted for Canal Side Car Parking and Maunsel House). Travel 1 1/2 miles, crossing back over the motorway and into the village of North Newton. Pass the school and the Harvest Moon pub on your left and turn left at the brown signs for Maunel House. Do not turn off the road until you see a red and white lodge and a brown sign to Maunsel, head up the driveway and park.
