Country House Description: Hill Place is a Georgian country villa; family home to Will and Rebecca Dobson and ideal venue for your exclusive use wedding, house party or event. Set within 20 acres of well-tended parkland and surrounded by the family’s orchards with views to the Isle of Wight, Hill Place’s spectacular Hall and four reception rooms provide an infinitely versatile space, all of which are licensed for weddings, civil partnerships and blessings. Will and Rebecca offer a personal bespoke service in ensuring the exclusive use of Hill Place for your wedding or event is all you hope it to be.
The Hall houses a stunning staircase with an open fire and all reception rooms lead off this room. The Morning Room has three windows in a bow, Georgian painted floral ceiling, open fire and glorious views of the park with a flight of stairs descending straight on to the lawn. The Drawing Room has a picture window looking over the park, comfortable sofas, an open fire and a piano. The Dining Room is home to the candelabra adorned table with views of the park through the picture window reflected in an enormous mirror. The Library houses a plethora of books covering a diverse number of topics, again with an open fire.
Hill Place can be hired on a per room basis, or the entire house including accommodation, both on an exclusive use basis. We are firm believers that it is your day to be celebrated however you wish. As such we do not offer packages but allow you to develop the day you want with or without our help. We will be there every step of the way to ensure the wedding, civil partnership or blessing is perfect. We can happily accommodate your wedding planner and caterers or offer personal guidance and our catering partners.
With four principal rooms, formal gardens, and ample space for a marquee, Hill Place can accommodate weddings for parties up to 200. For a more intimate wedding of perhaps 50, the ceremony could take place in the Morning Room; guests could celebrate with drinks in Hall, move to the Dining Room for food and finally fill the Drawing Room with dancing. For larger weddings, guests can be received in the Hall and Morning Room, moving through the garden to a marquee with the house left open in the evening.
