Hotel Description: The Cock Hotel rose to national pre-eminence in the great age of coach travel, with as many as 100 coaches a day coming into the Town. The Hotel was the official staging post for the famous Manchester Flier. An original timetable shows that the Flier left London at 8.30am, arriving in Manchester at 5.10am the next day with a 25 minute stop here at the Cock Hotel for dinner. Other travellers staying at the Hotel and the adjacent Bull, vied with each other in the telling of outrageous ‘tales of the road’, from whence the famous phrase a Cock and Bull Story derives.

We are licensed to hold Civil Wedding Ceremonies in the hotel and we would be delighted to host your entire day, from the Ceremony through to the Wedding Breakfast and Evening Reception. All at no extra cost. If you wish to marry at The Cock Hotel you should first contact the Superintendent Registrar of the district where you wish to marry.
Firstly, you must book the date with both the Hotel and the Registrar’s Office. Dates can be booked with the Superintendent Registrar up to twelve months in advance, although you will be required to re-confirm three months prior to the day.
The Superintendent Registrar for this area is based at Bletchley and can be contacted by telephone on Milton Keynes (01908) 372101. Fees for the registrar depend upon the day of the week and are payable to them direct. The Wedding Package
