Museum / Arts Centre Description: FULL STEAM AHEAD FOR A DREAM WEDDING…
From the glory of the Flying Scotsman and the romance of Brief Encounter to the luxury of the Orient Express, trains have transported, inspired and entertained.
For a wedding venue as momentous as the occasion itself, the award-winning National Railway Museum (NRM) in York provides the perfect platform. Ideal for ceremonies for up to 300 guests and receptions for up to 500, the NRM guarantees a wedding day bursting with wow factor and wonderment.
From the Royal Platforms, where you can hold a glittering ceremony on the red carpet between the carriages of Queen Victoria and Edward VII; to the Great Hall, offering a stunning backdrop amidst a working turntable and some of the Museum’s most iconic locomotives; the NRM offers an unrivalled variety of unique options.
The spectacular platform setting of Station Hall can accommodate dinner dances, more informal buffet or stylish bowl food receptions, or wedding breakfasts.
For smaller, more intimate ceremonies you can get married aboard Valiant, a painstakingly restored exquisite, Pullman-style Carriage. Stationed in a nostalgic railway livery setting, this beautiful carriage is lavishly furnished with period veneers.
A dedicated wedding planner will assist you in creating a tailored package and pulling out all the stops to provide you and your guests with memories that you will cherish forever.
