Historic Building Description: The Oxford Union is an undiscovered secret in the heart of Oxford City Centre. Over the past two centuries, the Union has played host to some of the world’s greatest politicians and celebrities and has frequently found itself under the media spotlight. It would be impossible to name all the famous and influential figures who have passed through our doors - Mother Theresa, Senator Bobby Kennedy, the Dalai Lama and Michael Jackson - all have contributed to the building’s fascinating history.
Now it is your turn to be our distinguished visitor.
One of the largest and most versatile venues in Central Oxford, our world-famous Debating Chamber can cater for a wedding breakfast of up to 120 guests. The adjoining courtyard is a quiet oasis in the city centre and provides the ideal setting for a marquee reception. The stunning wood panelled Macmillan Dining Room seats up to 60 guests and can also be hired for daytime or evening receptions. Alternatively hold your drinks reception in the Old Library with it's rarely seen Pre-Raphaelite frescos.
