Venue type: Historic Building Description: The Assembly Rooms were built in 1771 and on completion they were described as 'the most noble and elegant of any in the Kingdom'. All three rooms are entered through the grand foyer, its red carpeted aisle making a fitting entrance for any bride. The Great Octagon, with its magnificent chandelier, is the most popular room in Bath for civil ceremonies, and can accommodate up to 120 guests.
The elegant Tea Room with its sandstone pillars and high ceilings is a warm and inviting venue for receptions of up to 130 guests.
The Ball Room has the largest Georgian interior in Bath, and can accommodate up to 500 guests in style. It is especially suitable for larger gatherings, or receptions with a difference such as a ceilidh.

Directions by public transport: TRAIN - Bath is an excellent city to visit by rail. The station is called BATH SPA. There are frequent high-speed connections to London Paddington. For a slower service that is likely to be cheaper, try London Waterloo. Major cities such as Birmingham and Manchester have frequent services via Bristol. The south coast ports of Southampton and Portsmouth have direct services by train.
Directions by car: The centre of Bath is within easy walking distance for able-bodied people using the Park and Ride or any city centre car park. Park and Ride facilities are open Monday-Saturday 06.30 to 20.30.
FROM THE M4:
Leave the M4 at Junction 18 and take the A46 towards Bath.
Alternatively, follow the brown traffic signs saying 'Roman Baths' along the A46 and A4 to Bath and then the Roman helmet symbol to Charlotte Street car park.
