Directions by car & public transport:
Bruton is on the main Paddington to Exeter line but this stops 5 miles away at Castle Cary and Weymouth to Bristol line as well which does stop at Bruton! Directions from Bruton train station Walk down Station Road until give way Turn right - St Mary's Church will be on your left hand side and the River Brue will be on your right The most simple way is to follow the road in the direction of the one way system past Kings School Bruton up hill. At the top of the little hill cross the road (no pavement left) walk down the other side of the hill along the road called Plox. When you come to the T-junction at the bottom of the hill look straight ahead and you'll see our sign directing you right for 100 meters. Just past the petrol station forecourt and before the Chinese restaurant head left up Tower Hill!
From Bristol Step 1 - Follow the A37 south past Shepton Mallet. Step 2 - At roundabout, take first exit left to A371, Evercreech and Castle Cary. Step 3 - Pass the first sign to Bruton and Evercreech with Bath and West Showground on right. Step 4 - Continue for 3 miles (past Natterjack pub on right). After Ditcheat turning (on right), turn left to Bruton. Step 5 - Continue on windy road (through Wyke Champflower) for 3 miles until T junction in Bruton. Step 6 - Turn right onto A359 towards Yeovil Step 7 - Continue for 100m just after the pedestrian crossing & before Texaco Garage turn right into Tower Hill / Mill on the Brue car park From London Step 1 - Turn off A303 at sign to Gillingham, Wincanton and Bruton. (Just after discreet Somerset sign.) Step 2 - Follow Bruton signs (B3081) under A303 and on for 5 miles until you join one way system in Bruton. Step 3 - Drive past St Mary's Church & Kings School Bruton and at the T-junction (Mill on the Brue sign straight ahead over the hedge) turn right. Step 4 - Continue for 250 m turn left into Tower Hill just past Texaco garage forecourt. If you've crossed over the pedestrian crossing you've gone too far! From the West Step 1 - Take the third turning off the A303 at the Sparkford (Hazelgrove, MacDonalds) roundabout signed towards Bruton and Castle Cary (A359). Step 2 - After half a mile turn left (Just past Haynes printing). Continue for 6 miles over staggered cross roads (Through Galhampton). Step 3 - From cross roads continue for nearly 2 miles passing signs to Shepton Montague, continue into Bruton past Sunnyhill School for Girls after 1 mile under the railway bridge. Step 4 - After 350 m turn left into Tower Hill just past Texaco garage forecourt. If you've crossed over the pedestrian crossing you've gone too far!
