Nestling on the border of Dorset and Hampshire, Highcliffe is an award winning floral village, 4 miles from the historic town of Christchurch. The bustling village centre contrasts with the peaceful coastline where you can enjoy beautiful views of the Isle of Wight and the sweep of Christchurch Bay from the cliff-top.
Highcliffe village has a good range of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Nearby in Christchurch, visitors will find fascinating heritage such as the 11th century Priory, ruins of Christchurch Castle and anglo-saxon Place Mill. There is a range of excellent shops and restaurants, glorious gardens and riverside walks.
To discover the hidden secrets of Highcliffe you can follow the village trail which begins at the sea-front car park, leads through the village and past St Marks Church where Gordon Selfridge, founder of the London store Selfridges, is buried. The trail continues to the Castle and then on through Steamer Point Nature Reserve where you can stop for a picnic and enjoy the views. From here you can carry on along the beach to Mudeford Quay and catch the ferry to Hengistbury Head to enjoy the views of Bournemouth beaches and piers.
Bournemouth, offering excellent accommodation, beaches and shopping is approx 9 miles from Highcliffe. We are also close to Bournemouth International Airport (approx 6 miles), the New Forest (15 miles) and Southampton (25 miles). The nearest train station is Hinton Admiral – a 20 minute walk to the Castle.
