| Description | For dancing or just sitting and listening we can provide a big band playing jazz, in a similar style to that played on Strictly Come Dancing on the BBC!! We are an eight piece combo : ”All That Jazz” comprising 4 horns (2 saxes/trumpet/trombone) and a 3 piece rhythm section with an occasional vocalist. The horns are not amplified (vocals, keyboard and the double bass is) and the music is loud enough to dance to but not so loud you have to shout to make yourself heard!!)
We play mostly big band jazz: (A Mixture of Swing and Latin as performed by: Glen Miller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Robbie Williams etc and a smattering of fifties/ sixties numbers in a rock and roll/jazz-rock or funk style.
For background music either with drinks or pre dinner etc, we can provide a 4 piece band “The Smooth Operators” consisting of a horn player and rhythm section, although this can be reduced to a trio, duo or even a piano soloist if space is limited. They play a selection of cool easy listening jazz standards by Gershwin/Cole Porter etc. This music is not obtrusive.
For more intimate events, eg weddings I can provide a pianist to provide background music (classical/jazz/easy listening) prior to the bride's arrival,and during the signing of the registry, with the possibility of the addition of a trumpet for entry of the bride,and the exit of bride and groom.
We are all local musicians from the Alnwick (North Northumberland) area and you will find we are competitively priced.
