Overlooking the Haldon Hills the picturesque Terrace is the perfect outdoor location for exchanging your vows in the hazy sunshine. Indulge guests with champagne cocktails as your pictures are taken and then explore the beautiful grounds.
The spacious ballroom is a statement making room to share your first meal together in as a married couple. Flooded in summer light, this ballroom can be set for between 50 and 150 selected guests. Your personal wedding coordinator will work with you to ensure each course has the perfect wine to accompany it and of course, a glass of something sparkling for the toasts. Continue your day outside on the landscaped lawns, then dip your toes into the lake to cool down before dancing the night away.
Minnehaha is situated a short walk away from the dunes of Scarborough beach, so have your summer wedding photographs taken on the dunes then head to the giant hat tipi’s at Minnehaha to begin celebrating your marriage as you mean to go on. You could have a humanist ceremony or a blessing under the rustic bridal arch in The Barn Bistro. Step outside onto the terrace and munch on canapes whilst you mingle with your guests in the warm sunshine.
When the temperature starts to dip, carry the party on inside in the lavishly furnished tipis. With hay bales and sheepskin rugs, the Tipi’s also have a fire pit to warm up around. For your evening gathering you could have an informal hog roast set in the courtyard and after dancing yourself silly with the disco or live band in the tipi, finish the day off with a firework display on the grounds. If your wedding party is a big celebration then The Pound Yard, the dedicated marquee area is the place for you. Caswell house can provide their own caterer Caswell Indulgence to create the perfect menu for your day. After your celebrations have wound down, 18 lucky guests can stay with you in the house. In the morning, exchange your favourite tales of the day in the early morning sunshine with a continental breakfast in the courtyard.
The history laced Old Smokehouse restaurant in Amelies is licensed for civil ceremonies, and it can accommodate 60 wedding guests. There is only a 5 minute walk to Porthleven beach, so you can up sticks and stroll down to have your pictures taken on the summer sands. With its clear turquoise seas, you could be forgiven for mistaking the beach for somewhere a wee bit more tropical. Back at Amelies, Porthleven Harbor provides the calming summer backdrop to your welcome drinks on the terrace.
Make the most of the sunshine and have a BBQ on the terrace whilst you and your guests mill around and enjoy the laid back atmosphere. Alternatively, the bright and airy restaurant can be set up for a more formal 3 course wedding breakfast, but why not fling open the doors and let the summer breeze in. For your evening celebrations the restaurant is rearranged for a disco or band, with the terrace decorated in fairy lights so you can dance into the night.
Hidden in 33 acres of private parkland, Brympton House is an exclusive wedding venue whether you’re hosting a cosy ceremony or a more extravagant affair. The Tudor castle house can be used for your wedding ceremony, but we think you should make the most of the summer sun and say ‘I Do’ on the south terrace with its breathtaking views over the lake to wow your guests. Set against the Elizabethan grandeur of the house, have your drinks reception on the lawn and let guests bathe in the sunshine.
Wander on down to The Stables for your evening function. The refurbished stables now include a large chill out room, perfect for when you need to rest your feet from dancing in the dedicated dance floor area. The Stables also has its own bar for your use in the evening. Outside of The Stables is the courtyard, lovely on warm summer evenings to serve a hog roast or perhaps a giant paella. If, you are looking for a venue to accommodate a large wedding party, then Brympton House is for you. The marquee set on the lawn can comfortably cater for 1,000 guests, and then enthrall them with a spectacular summer fireworks display, the perfect end to a perfect day.
This quirky little theatre is a spectacular summer venue; set against the beautiful Lyme Regis coastline it provides the perfect backdrop for your wedding pictures. Marine Theatre is proudly sat within England’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, a rather impressive talking point for your guests. Inside, the auditorium can have tables set in small groups or as long running tables for a more informal setting. The stage is the best place to hold speeches and for a band or disco to entertain from later on in the day.
Upstairs, the Stage Door Bar overlooks the auditorium, ideally located so your guests can chill out whilst still being a part of your celebrations. The outside balcony is also yours for exclusive use; overlooking the Jurassic Coast wedding photographs from here are guaranteed to be striking and hopefully soaked in summer sunshine.
