Blackbrook House is unique, in fact most of our guests say that we are incomparable, and for that we are eternally grateful because it is our uniqueness that has led to the wonderful reputation we have today.
We are a beautifully restored Victorian house set within 4 acres of landscaped gardens and magnificent woodlands, making a fabulous backdrop for all your wedding pictures. We are located within the Derwent Valley, just outside the market town of Belper and 15 minutes from Derby. We are licensed to hold civil ceremonies and civil partnerships 7 days a week and we can comfortably accommodate from 2 up to 120 guests seated, and upto 200 guests for an evening reception.
We steer away from the traditional packages and make every wedding bespoke and individual to each of our couples. Our wish is for you to have exclusivity and total privacy and for you and your guests to enjoy Blackbrook House for the day as though it was your own and as such the house is closed to all other guests on your day. We are now fortunate to be able the opportunity to get married outdoors within our beautiful garden and terrace area, making a real intimate and romantic option for exchanging your wedding vows!
Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. The success of it will come out of the effort you put into it. At Blackbrook House we believe that your wedding day should be all about you. It’s not the venues day, it’s your day, created for you by people who care and who listen to what you want. There are no packages at Blackbrook, each and every wedding is created individually taking into account every little detail, because its not only the big things that count, its also the little things that matter!
Because we believe passionately about what we do, we don’t leave anything to chance, and it’s our meticulous planning that enables you to relax and enjoy the day you have dreamt about for so long. We want you to be able to look back in weeks, months and years to come and say “ It was perfect, I would not do a single thing differently” except of course to be able to do it all again!
There are so many elements of the day, all of them important. But to us, gracious hospitality and exceptional food are probably the two most important to get right. After all, if you can’t look after every guest yourself, then you want to know that each and every one of them is being attended to as if at your private dinner party and that there is a smile waiting for them at every corner and a willingness to help.
When it comes to food, Blackbrook House really comes into its own. With our imaginative menus, our creative presentation and our outstanding Executive Chef we have the perfect combination. Wedding food does not have to be uninteresting; anything can be achieved if you have the right team and plan your menus with knowledge and experience. It’s all about having the commitment to succeed and the desire to please. The entire team at Blackbrook House have one common aim, and that is to ensure every guest leaves having eaten mouth watering food and having experienced the highest possible level of hospitality.
Whilst we don't have bedrooms here at Blackbrook House we do have two beautifully restored Victorian properties a short distance away. These provide the perfect space for you to enjoy time with your family and friends within the stunning Derbyshire countryside.
Please check our website for our open days and we look forward to meeting you!
