Thirsk Racecourse offers a cost-effective alternative to more expensive wedding venues, but without compromising on any aspect of your special day.
Thirsk provides a stunning setting for all styles of wedding, with its extensive, immaculately kept grounds and historic buildings providing the perfect atmosphere and an ideal backdrop for photography and video. Whilst steeped in tradition, much of Thirsk Racecourse has been recently refurbished and renovated to provide every modern facility, while remaining sympathetic to its historic heritage. In addition, our catering and silver service standards are second to none.
We are located in the heart of beautiful Herriot Country, with easy access from most locations in the region and further afield. There is ample free parking onsite, and a nearby railway station as well as numerous accommodation options locally to suit all budgets.

Directions by car:
From the south (A1), take the A168 at Dishforth. After 6 miles take the B1448 to Thirsk. At the mini-roundabout, turn left past Tesco . The Members car park is on the right and the main car park is opposite the main entrance, on the left. ALL CAR PARKS ARE FREE.
From the north (A1) follow signs for Thirsk. Enter Thirsk from the west along the A61. The racecourse is on the left about half a mile past the railway station.
From Teesside, turn off the A19 for Thirsk, then go through the town centre, leaving on the A61 for Ripon. At the mini roundabout beyond the town centre, turn right past Tesco and then as 1 (above).
From York (A19) go straight on at the first roundabout approaching Thirsk, then left at the second roundabout, through the town centre, as 3 (above).
From Scarborough (A170), keep straight on at the roundabout and follow signs Ripon (A61) through the town centre as 3 (above).
Directions by public transport:
Thirsk Station is half a mile from the course, along the A61 towards Ripon.
Grand Central operates 4 direct services per day to/from London, calling only at York. The reverse service continues to Sunderland.
Transpennine operates a regular direct service between Manchester, Leeds, York, Thirsk Northallerton and Middlesbrough.
Additional services are available by changing at York (from the South) or Darlington/Northallerton (from the North).
