Lovekyn Chapel, dating back to 1309, is the oldest building in Kingston. Although it is no longer used for religious services, it is the most popular venue in the Royal Borough for civil ceremonies and civil partnerships. An elegant and bright space with excellent acoustics, the chapel can seat 60 wedding guests.
Reflecting its 14th-century medieval heritage, the room features large stained glass windows and a magnificent vaulted ceiling. If you want the tradition and ambience of a church but without the religious service, our chapel is the perfect venue for you.
The Registrar from Kingston Council will perform your wedding ceremony and, as we only allow one wedding a day, you are not rushed.
Access to the chapel is two hours before a wedding and so there is ample time for deliveries.
We will decorate the chapel for free with tasteful silk floral arrangements if the bride so wishes, and there is also the opportunity for the happy couple to host a completely FREE champagne reception either in the pretty chapel garden or inside the chapel itself. This is a completely free service with no corkage fee either! If you supply the drinks and glasses, we will serve your guests for absolutely no fee whatsoever!
